Temps chaud et sec..... Info : Juan Manuel FANGIO, forfait après un grave accident au essais avec la nouvelle MASERATI A6GCM. Info N° 2 : Alberto ASCARI n'est pas présent sur cette course, il est a INDIANAPOLIS, où il cassera une fusée sur sa voiture non adaptée pour ce circuit. Info N° 3 : Jean BEHRA a amené sa voiture juste terminée pour la course de PARIS par la route (une GORDINI T16 ). Pôle de Guiseppe FARINA mais a 5 secondes du chrono de l'année dernière......
Course : Bon départ du Pôleman et de Piero TARUFFI.... Abandon de Max DE TERRA, allumage au 1er Tour de Louis ROSIER au 2ème Tours, accident de Tony ULLMEN au 4ème Tour, réservoir et Hans STÜCK, piston. 2 accidents pour George ABECASSIS et Peter COLLINS au 12ème Tour.... FARINA casse son moteur , il reprend celle d'André SIMON mais subit le même sort au 17ème Tour.... Jean BEHRA lui roule très bien mais il perd l'un des tuyaux d'échappements , son coéquipier Robert MANZON est au stand, retardé par une durite cassée alors on essaye de remplacer son tuyau mais ils n'ont pas le même diamètre il repart quand même avant qu'on le rappelle au stand pour réparer son tuyau modifié, il terminera 3ème.... MANZON Abandonne au 20ème Tour, échappement, Stirling MOSS et Lance MACKLIN sont arrêtés par leur stand au 24ème Tour, Harry SCHELL abandonne dans le même Tour, moteur.... André SIMON sur la Voiture de FARINA abandonne au 51ème Tour, moteur et BIRA au 52ème Tours, allumage....
